The 2019 Southern New Mexico State Fair & Rodeo is excited to bring you a fair week jam-packed with rodeo action, fun and excitement with some of the top competitors in the nation and WNFR quality livestock. If you love rodeo and all that it entails, you will love the SNMSF rodeo action in 2019!!

Plan on getting to the Fairgrounds early to ensure you get a seat. Or… If you are interested in a box seat for that “up close” look at the best in rodeo, contact the SNMSF&R office immediately at 575 524-8602, as they are going fast, and your purchase ensures you the best seat in the house for all 5 performances!!

And remember…once you pay to get into the fair, your admission to the rodeo is covered. And if you get there late and the stands are full….we are excited to give you for the very first time, video coverage in the pavilion on Friday and Saturday nights. That way you won’t miss any of the action!

We will start with the most popular rodeo event and also a new one to professional rodeo….a bull riding and breakaway roping.  The Rumble on the Rio, Last Man Standing Bull Riding will provide several thrilling rounds of bull riding until only one rider remains. HiLo Pro Rodeo and Barker Bulls will be bringing in professional bull riders from all over the region to compete for money and prizes on some of the best bucking bulls in the country, many of which you have seen at PBR competitions and the WNFR in Vegas!

Ladies Breakaway Roping is a new event to PRCA rodeos, and although ours will not be a part of the rodeo until next year, we are offering it on Wednesday night…so come watch the ladies in this action-packed, fast event.

Before the bull riding kicks off, come meet the cowboys and cowgirls in the Fan Zone and enjoy activities for kids and adults alike.  This will be an interactive family atmosphere that you don’t want to miss.

On Thursday night, the NMSU Rodeo Team will be in the arena to compete against other teams in the Grand Canyon Region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association, (Arizona and NM)  Our Aggies will be competing in all of the traditional rodeo events as well as goat tying and breakaway roping for the ladies.  Our girl’s team finished 7th in the nation in 2019, and will be starting a new season looking to earn qualifications to the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, WY.  And the men’s team will be challenging this year with Casper in their sites.  Come out and cheer on YOUR AGGIES!!

Friday and Saturday nights, the Pete Domenici Arena will be the home of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association with contestants coming from all over the US to compete for the $2000 per event added money. HiLo ProRodeo, one of the fastest growing stock contractors in the nation, will be bringing the best in bucking stock and the fastest roping and doggin’ animals to add to the excitement. The SNMSF has the reputation for putting on an outstanding rodeo, and this year will be no different!!

And remember, your paid admission to the Fair gets you into each of these events.
